“Contribute to the socioeconomic development of the communities through YPSA’s financial assistance”

Under the financial support of Solidar Suisse, YPSA (Young Power in Social Action) began a project titled “Covid 19 Affected Rohingya and Host Communities Economic Recovery and Response Project in Cox’s Bazar Bangladesh” on February 1, 2021. The project aims to contribute to the help of struggling people in Cox’s Bazar in response to the pandemic scenario and two times countrywide lockdown in the previous year.
The project is currently in its third phase, with a targeted of 3045 households from the Rajapalong and Ratnapalong Unions. In the first phase, 2230 beneficiaries were served, and in the second phase, 2700 people were served from Rajapalong union’s 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 no wards.
During the launch of the Mobile Money Transfer (MMT) program at Union porishad complex ground on 14th February’2022, Mr. Nurul Huda, honorable Chairman, and respective ward members were there and commended the Project activities.
Mr. Nurul Huda handed over beneficiaries’ cards among selected beneficiaries. He thanked YPSA and Solidar Suisse for helping him put the concept into action in his union. During the Covid 19 pandemic, many people lost their valuable assets and output. Daily laborers, including as hawkers and rickshaw poolers, were unable to leave their homes due to the lockdown.
YPSA and Solidar Suisse aided them in meeting their daily necessities at the time. Some people have been able to reclaim their assets with the help of CCT. It was a tremendous help. This time, the project is being implemented by YPSA at Ratnapalong Union. He feels that the recipients will be satisfied and able to increase their family’s income. He proposed that YPSA construct a livelihood project to assist recipients, with YPSA monitoring the project. As a result, people may benefit for a long period. He also asked the recipients to make proper use of the funds.
Mr. Anarul Haque, Solidar Suisse’s Livelihood Coordinator, expressed his heartfelt gratitude and best wishes to the chairman and members of Ratnapalong Union Porishad who were present at the distribution of financial assistance among UCCT and CCT members as part of the COVID-19 response project, which was implemented by YPSA and Solidar Suisse.
Given the success of the Covid -19 Project, YPSA and Solidar Suisse have made every effort to identify the targeted or affected families in the areas and have implemented the UCCT and CCT financial assistance schemes for those who have been disproportionately affected by Covid-19.
He claims that if local dignitaries and leaders engage with us in this humanitarian effort as they have in the past, the project will be able to assist more of the Covid-19’s most impacted families in regaining their livelihood.
On the program Mostaq Ahmed; Project Coordinator, Nobel Barua; MMT Officer, Shamim Parvez; Community Mobilizer, Ziko Barua; Community Volunteer were attended from YPSA.
