Nikaruzzaman Chowdhury told UkhiyaNews.com that Ukhia Upazila is being divided into 3 zones considering the rate of corona virus infection.
He said data on union and ward-based corona infections in Ukhia Upazila is already being collected and analyzed. Statistics show that unions or wards that are most infected or at risk of infection are called “red zones”, unions or wards that are moderately infected are called “yellow zones” and unions or wards that are not infected at all are safe. To be kept will be divided as “Green Zone” area. It may be effective by tomorrow under the direction of Cox’s Bazar district administration.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Nikaruzzaman Chowdhury further said that strict action will be taken in all the unions or wards which will be identified as ‘red zones’. Strictness will be limited in the Union or Ward which will be marked as ‘Yellow Zone’. And the union or ward that will be identified as ‘Green Zone’ will have almost normal life in accordance with government health rules, maintaining social and physical distance.
He also said that the Rohingya camps are being zoned, and it is being decided to monitor the local people separately.
