Sinha murder: Liakat gives confessional statement
Liakat Ali, former in-charge of Baharchhara police outpost and one of the main accused of Major (retired) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan murder case, has given confessional statement.
His confessional statement was recorded at the private chamber of Cox’s Bazar magistrate around 12:00pm on Sunday (August 30).
Khairul Islam, investigating officer (IO) of the murder case said, “He (Liakat Ali) confessed his guilt. I hope that he expressed the truth.”
Earlier, three members of the Armed Police Battalion (APBn) made a confessional statement in the murder case. They are – Sub-Inspector Md Shahjahan, constable Md. Razib and Md. Abdullah.
On the night of July 31, Major Sinha was killed in police firing near a check-post in Shamlapur under Bharchhara union of Cox’s Bazar’s Teknaf.
