“We will soon install barbed wire fences around the camps as per the directive of the prime minister,” said the minister
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said the government will soon install barbed wire fences around Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar, aiming to stop the spread of Rohingyas into the country.
“We will soon install barbed wire fences around the camps as per the directive of the prime minister to maintain law and order in the camps and ensure safety and security,” he said on Thursday.
The minister came up with the remarks while talking to reporters at the Bangladesh Secretariat in Dhaka following a meeting with US Ambassador Earl R Miller.
Earlier on the day, a European Union delegation met the minister at the secretariat.
Bangladesh is now hosting over 1.1 million Rohingyas and most of them entered Bangladesh since August 25, 2017.
