Pessimistic health consequences due to COVID19 pandemic has been prolonged around the globe and leaving behind multifold wounds in the daily human lives but also has emerged as an opportunity to embed hand hygiene as a fundamental pillar of primary health care and renew efforts to enable people wash their hands at critical times. Investing in hand hygiene is both effective and cost effective. Considering this very fact PRANTIC Unnayan Society with financial assistance from MedGlobal and effective coordination of OBAT Inc. USA has handed over today six sets of Handwashing equipment to one public toilet and to the religious institutions – one at Women Madrasa (religious educational institution), one Buddha mandir (prayer place of Buddhists) and three Hindu mandirs where huge mass gathering is expected during ongoing Durga Puja festival in Ukhiya upazila of Cox’s Bazar district in Bangladesh.
The handing over event was organized at the premise of Department of Public Health and Engineering, Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar. The office head, Engineer Mr. Al-Amin Biswas presided over the event and handed over the handwashing equipment to the representatives of above said six institutions. The recipients agreed and signed terms and conditions of using the equipment for public purposes and follow the guidance and advises of government regarding the COVID19.
