Drug dealer killed in Ukhiya gunfight

A man known as a drug dealer has been killed in a ‘gunfight’ with RAB in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar. The deceased was identified as Jahangir Alam, 35, son of late Syed Alam of Balukhali Zamindarpara in Palangkhali union of Ukhia upazila.

According to sources, RAB-7 Chittagong Senior Assistant Director (Media) Flight Lt. Niaz Mohammad Chapal told this information to the journalists.

The RAB claimed that the deceased was a drug dealer. One shooter gun was recovered from him, RAB said.


RAB officer Flight Lt. Niaz Mohammad Chapal said a gunfight took place with a group of RAB-7 in Kakra Bridge area of ​​Balukhali in Ukhia upazila on Sunday morning. When the RAB fired in self-defense, the traders fled. Jahangir’s body was later found at the spot. 70,000 yaba, one shooter gun and cartridges were recovered from there.
