Corona of 21 people including 3 Rohingyas was identified in Cox’s Bazar

Corona of 21 people including 3 Rohingyas have been identified in the lab of Cox’s Bazar Medical College.

Their report was found ‘positive’ in a sample test of 164 people on Friday (May 15).

Besides, the follow-up report of two old corona patients of Ramu has been ‘positive’.

The reports of the remaining 181 people were found to be ‘negative’.

Dr. Mohammad Shahjahan Nazir, Assistant Professor (Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases Specialist) of Cox’s Bazar Medical College and Hospital confirmed the information.

Of the 21 people identified as ‘positive’ on Friday (May 15), 1 was in Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila, 15 in Chakaria Upazila, 1 in Pekua Upazila, 1 in Kutubdia and 3 Rohingya refugees.

The number of patients infected with corona in Cox’s Bazar district is 152.

There are 52 in Chakaria Upazila, 36 in Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila, 21 in Pekua Upazila, 12 in Maheshkhali Upazila, 14 in Ukhia Upazila, 6 in Teknaf Upazila, 4 in Ramu Upazila, 1 in Kutubdia Upazila and 4 Rohingya refugees. The first corona virus was detected in Kutubdia upazila today.

One identified as Corona died in Cox’s Bazar. She is the wife of Mohammad Abdullah of East Kawar Khop village in Kawar Khop union of Ramu upazila.


33 corona patients have returned home after recovering.
