Bangladesh ready to return to Rohingya

Chittagong Division Additional Commissioner Nurul Alam Nezami said Bangladesh is ready for the Rohingya repatriation.

He said this after an urgent meeting with the Rohingya issue on Sunday (August 8th) at noon. The meeting was held at the Office of the Commissioner for Refugee Relief and Refugees in Cox’s Bazar.

Nurul Alam Nezami said, “We have already finished preparations for the August 22 Rohingya retreat. Now the last phase is underway. Maybe everything will be enhanced if everything goes well. ”

Refugee relief and repatriation commissioner Md. Abul Kalam, Deputy Commissioner of Cox’s Bazar. Kamal Hossain, Cox’s Bazar police superintendent ABM Masud Hossain, additional RRC Shamsuddouza Nayan, additional deputy commissioner SM Sarwal Kamal and representatives of the United Nations Refugee Organization (UNHCR).


The meeting discussed preparations for the Rohingya retreat. The government of Myanmar announced on August 22 that it will begin its repatriation process.
