5 Rohingya robbers arrested in Ukhiya

The 14th Armed Police Battalion (APBN) has arrested five identified Rohingya terrorists while preparing for a robbery with home-made firearms from Kutupalong camp in Ukhiya. Yaba tablets were also recovered from them.

14 APBN’s Superintendent of Police Naimul Haque confirmed the matter at 10am on Saturday (November 20).

Detained, No. 3 Camp Block-B / 13’s Md. Nur Hossain (36) son of Kabir Ahmed, Ali Hossain (22) son of Abdul Karim of Kutupalong Camp Block-B Nur Quader (23) son of late Abdul Quader of Block-G of the same camp, Md. Tofail Ahmed of Block-A. Hasan (25) and son of the late Syedul Islam of Block-C. Syed (26).

SP Naimul Haque said, “We came to know on the basis of secret information at 2 am on Friday that some terrorists were preparing to rob the registered Kutupalong camp in Ukhiya with domestic weapons.” In the news, a team of APBN raided the spot and arrested 5 identified Rohingya robbers. Another 14/15 who were with them at that time escaped. After searching their bodies, 1 domestic weapon and drug Yaba tablets were recovered.


He said further legal action was being taken against the detainees.
